Thursday Night Community Cookouts

Community Cookouts are one of our main weekly programs and happen every Thursday from May – early November on Thursday evenings.

Cookouts are a space to:

• explore new foods cooked in a wood-fired oven
• celebrate good food
• learn and share
• make new friends and eat together in community

Each week has a theme, some week’s have an ‘open’ theme (bring whatever you like!) Other weeks have themes and the oven team provides the base (e.g. pizza dough; pie crust; tortilla dough, etc) and you bring fillings/toppings and other food as per that week’s theme.

Every week we have firemaster volunteers on hand who light the oven 2 hours in advance, set up the space to host our community, and manage cooking and fire safety. We have pizza peels, gloves and everything need for safe wood-fired cooking.

We ask that you bring your own plates, glasses, and cutlery, and cutting boards and other prep tools if possible, though we provide everything need for the dough base and cookint in the oven. We often have extra cutting boards, knives and rolling pins as needed, too. We have a handwashing station & a sink for washing dishes with hot water and soap.
