As winter ends and spring begins, our thoughts are moving toward the exciting progress and construction of our Front Street Community Oven project. We soon will be sharing a working wood-fired oven with you all!
On May 21st 7pm (see Facebook event) we’ll have a meet-up for people who are interested in becoming fire masters at the oven. Firemasters will be the key community volunteers that manage the fire/oven and ensure the overall safety (and fun!) of the entire experience.
If the oven is ready to cook in, we’ll bring some flatbread and toppings down to cook our first pizzas. Everyone is invited to bring something to bake and share. This will be a meet and greet on site, not the training session itself. We ask that volunteers bring their calendars to check which days they can be available for, for future training and or community open oven days.
Lastly, We’ve had inquiries regarding the funds raised through our initial Kickstarter Campaign. Kickstarter has a short timeline where if you reach your goal you get all the funds and if you don’t, all the funds are returned to the backers. If you donated through Kickstarter last year, your donation was returned to your credit card when the campaign was canceled. We sent two emails about this through Kickstarter, but we’ve heard that they went to junk mail. If you’d like to re-donate, click here or the image to learn more!
Thank you all for your continued interest and support. We look forward to seeing you throughout our first season!
